Recall can be one of the most valuable skills in border collie obedience training, and I like to start by making it motivating and natural.

For example, we can encourage your puppy to chase—then, when they catch up, they earn a treat. After only a few short sessions, many Border Collie puppies begin to understand: running to you is worth it.

We can also add a tug toy to increase engagement, so your puppy can enjoy a rewarding game of tug alongside food treats. The goal is simple: your puppy learns that coming when called is a great thing to do.
